Building the Literature Search (Updated Oct. 2022) Constructing a search for relevant research in databases such as PubMed, CINAHL and others can be challenging. This handout attempts to show the process of moving from a topic/question, to the PICO format, the development of a search strategy, and finally to (hopefully) the identification of published research relevant to the topic in question.
