The Science Library now circulates board games! Our collection is comprised of over 130 classic games, eurogames, card games, and more. In this guide, you will find a catalog of the games available at the Science Library, instructional videos on how to play many of our games, featured games, new arrivals, and more.
Do you have a favorite game you like to play but didn't see it available for checkout?
Use the Collection Suggestion form for any additional requests or suggestions for games you would like to see in the collection.
Where are the games located?
The games are located on shelves outside the SL Grand Reading Room (GRR) which is located on the second floor. Go up the stairs and to the right, the games are outside the glass doors.
Who can check them out?
All UCI affiliates (students, faculty, employees, etc.) with a library card can borrow a game and take it home, but all visitors can use the games in the library.
Can I take them out of the library?
Yes! Games can be checked out for 7 days at a time.
What if I can't bring the game back in time or I'm still playing?
All games are available for one renewal - renewable online, over the phone or in person.
How many games can I check out?
2 Board Games max per patron
Where do I return games?
Please return them to the SL Check Out desk, do not return via the book drop.
What do I do if the game has missing pieces?
Please notify SL Check Out Desk Staff that there are missing pieces in a Board Game
