This guide provides an overview of the newspapers available from UCI Libraries.

Washington Post

The UCI Libraries offers campus-wide access to The Washington Post, a source for expert reporting and analysis from Washington and around the world, including award-winning investigate coverage and editorial commentary.

There are two ways to access The Washington Post.

1. Create a personal Washington Post account. This way gives you app access. [See pdf  "Activation Steps" linked at the bottom of this box for instructions + screenshots.]

  • Visit https://www.washingtonpost.com/subscribe/signup to sign-up with your UCI email address.
  • Enter your UCI email address, agree to the Terms of Service and hit Continue.
  • Choose a password and click on create an account.
  • Click on [Your Name] in the upper-fight corner.
  • Click on My Post.
  • Once you are in My Post, click on Manage Account on the right hand side.
  • Make sure your email address is Verified. If not, click "unverified" to be sent a verification email.
  • Once verified, click over to the Subscription & Billing tab.
  • Click Activate free digital access

2. Activate the VPN. Make sure you select the UCIFull option.

  • Go to https://www.washingtonpost.com/.
  • You now have access and should not be limited to a certain number of articles per month. You might still see a "subscribe now" button and banners advertising subscriptions. Feel free to ignore them as individual registration is not required for access.

Washington Post Podcasts

Along with our subscription, you can listen to podcasts. This includes daily briefs on important current events or deep dive series. Impromptu features conversations with Post columnists about the latest news and culture debates that inspire their columns. Try This is intended for someone who wants a short listen, as it provides quick solutions and advice.
