Narrow your Search

Your list of results on your keywords may be in the millions - that's because UC Library Search is searching across all the UCs, and it's searching books, book chapters, journal articles, videos, newspaper articles, government documents, dissertations, and more! You can use the filters on the left menu to help narrow in on certain types of resources, time frames, languages, and more. You can use one or several of the filters on the Refine your Results menu to the left of the search results list.

As demonstrated in the example below, you can select that you'd like to refine your search to only books on the topic. Or you can select a specific publication time frame be applied to the results - you only want material published in the last 5 years. You can apply multiple filters to narrow your results.

See the UC Library Search Introduction video at 00:21 for a demonstration of applying filters to narrow your search results.
