International Data

While the selection of sites listed below offer access to various datasets, many of the organizations also provide analysis of this data (if you are looking for statistics). For specific country information, most countries have a statistics ministry or department. Find the country's government website and then look for its various federal agencies.

The UCI Libraries' subscription covers three modules. 1) Country Reports: examines and explains the important political and economic trends in a country. 2) Country Commerce: a practical guide to a country's business regulations and business practices. 3) Financial Services: detailed analysis and a five-year forecast for the financial services industry in a country.

Eurostat
Eurostat is the statistical office of the European Union and its mission is to provide high-quality statistics and data on Europe.
FAOSTAT
FAOSTAT provides access to food and agriculture data for over 245 countries and territories and covers all FAO regional groupings from 1961 to the most recent year available.

Global intelligence database with data, analysis, ratings, rankings, and forecasts for much of the world's countries and industries. Research features country risk, financial markets analysis, and industry research.
Global Financial Data This link opens in a new window
Global time-series financial and economic data provided in ASCII or Excel format. Data includes total returns on bonds, bills, stocks, and individual indexes.

International Database: World Population Estimates and Projections
From the U.S Census Bureau. Contains statistical tables of demographic data for countries and areas of the world with a population of 5,000 or more. Covers 1950 to present with projections to 2050
International Monetary Fund Data
Provides access to macroeconomic and financial data.

OECD iLibrary This link opens in a new window
Online library of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) featuring its books, papers, and statistics, and is the knowledge base of OECD's analysis and data.

Polity5 Project
The Polity5 dataset covers all major, independent states in the global system over the period 1800-2018. It examines concomitant qualities of democratic and autocratic authority in governing institutions, rather than discreet and mutually exclusive forms of governance.
Stockholm International Peace Research Institute
SIPRI provides data on conflict, armaments, arms control and disarmament.
UN Comtrade Database
Access to detailed global trade data.

Offers a variety of statistical resources covering the following areas: Education, Employment, Energy, Environment, Food and Agriculture, Health, Human Development, Industry, Information and Communication Technology, National Accounts, Population, Refugees, Trade and Tourism.
World Bank DataBank
DataBank is an analysis and visualisation tool that contains collections of time series data on a variety of topics. Users can create their own queries; generate tables, charts, and maps; and easily save, embed, and share them.

World Development Indicators (WDI) This link opens in a new window
WDI is the primary World Bank collection of development indicators, compiled from officially-recognized international sources. It presents the most current and accurate global development data available, and includes national, regional and global estimates. Data includes population, income, social, economic, financial, natural resources, and environmental indicators for more than forty years (starting in 1960 where data are available).
