UCI Libraries wants to help you discover, learn about, and celebrate people and ideas that history has overlooked because of the color of their skin, gender identity, or sexual orientation. This series, ReWatching History: Uncovering Diversity in Our Past, will point to streaming videos already in our collection that you can watch anytime.

This page focuses on VISIONARIES. These are people who have been the first to go down a particular path or make a conjecture or see a brilliant future that others couldn't see without their leadership. Examples like Don Alfonso seeing the potential between fusing traditional Guatemalan marimba music with heavy metal. Or how Marion Stokes had the vision to create an archive of news programs to document the 20th century. And the groundbreaking work by Irene Jolio-Curie in nuclear physics. We hope that you enjoy discovering more about these visionaries!
