Research computing support is available to all members of the UCI research community (faculty, staff, students) to promote awareness of and provide assistance with campus information technology resources as they facilitate scholarly research.

ArcGIS At UCI

ArcGIS Software - Faculty/Staff
Full-capacity, professional copy of ArcGIS is available for licenses through OIT for $400 / year. License expires each year on June 30th.
ArcGIS Software - free for students
The “student copy” (or student trial or student license) of ArcGIS is actually identical to the full-capacity, professional copy of ArcGIS which is distributed to faculty and staff. The student copy is simply limited in its distribution to students. The license expires June 30th of each year.
UCI's ArcGIS Online Portal
Under the Enterprise Login menu, select Login with your UCInetID and an account will be created for you automatically. You can also access the portal using the Pro version of ArcGIS. Both the Pro & Desktop versions of ArcGIS are available for download on the OIT Licenses page. Everyone receives 100 credits, but if you need more please open an OIT ticket and provide a reason why.
Virtual Computer Lab (Apporto)
Undergraduate students can access university-licensed computer applications via the Internet. VCL allows you to work from home or any location with a high-speed Internet connection.

Using their campus login and password, students are now able to log in to https://www.oit.uci.edu/apporto-2/ to gain access to a range of software that is normally only available for use in our public access computer labs located on campus. VCL is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is available free of charge.
