Microform and microfilms at the UC Irvine Libraries

To search the microform collections at UCI go into UC Library Search and click on "Advanced Search". Try some general search terms in the "Any Field" box. (e.g., Medieval and England). Then scroll down and in the "Microform" box, select "All Microforms". (Do not select "Any"). Then try to find the guide to the collection (in the library or online), as the guide is extremely useful for locating specific documents.

Microform sets and government fiche are located on in the basement of Langson Library.

Archival directories

Library of Congress Finding Aids
These aids contain detailed information about a specific collection of papers or records within the Library of Congress.
National Archives and Records Administration Access to Archival Databases
Provides online access to over 50 million historical electronic records.
NARA Archival Research Catalog
The online catalog of NARA's nationwide holdings in Washington D.C., Regional Libraries, and Presidential Libraries.
National (United Kingdom) Register of Archives
The NRA contains information on the nature and location of manuscripts and historical records that relate to British history.
Archives Hub
The Archives Hub enables you to search across descriptions of archives held at over 240 institutions across the United Kingdom.
Archives Portal Europe
Provides access to over 50 million descriptive units from 31 different European countries as well as information on archival institutions throughout the continent.
Archives Wiki from the AHA
Clearinghouse of information about archival resources throughout the world.

ArchiveGrid includes records describing archival materials. It brings together information about historical documents, personal papers, family histories, and more. With more than 1,400 archival institutions represented. researchers can find primary source materials held in archives, libraries, museums and historical societies across the U.S.

Provides public access to detailed descriptions and finding aids of primary resource collections maintained by more than 200 contributing institutions including libraries, special collections, archives, historical societies, and museums throughout California and collections maintained by the 10 University of California (UC) campuses.
