How to Access the New York Times

 

 
Enjoy access to NYTimes.com, courtesy of UCI Libraries.*


To Activate:

1. While on campus (cannot be off campus and connected to the VPN), visit AccessNYT.com

2. Create a NYTimes.com account using your UCI email address

Type in "Irvine" and it will find University of California, Irvine.

Fill in your UCI email address, create a password, and choose the appropriate "type of user." Then click "Sign Up."

3. If you wish, you can download the NYT mobile app. Visit nytimes.com/mobile.

 

After registration, you can enjoy access to NYTimes.com from any network or location.

The expiration date of your Pass will be shown to you upon activation. AFTER ONE YEAR, YOU WILL NEED TO RENEW YOUR ACCOUNT.

*To activate complimentary NYTimes.com access, you must be a current student, faculty or staff member at UCI.

This does not include e-reader editions, Times Insider content or digital versions of the New York Times Crossword. Mobile apps are not supported on all devices.

How to Access The Wall Street Journal

How do current UCI affiliates (i.e. students, faculty, and staff with an active UCInetID and password) activate their complimentary membership?

  • Visit WSJ.com/UCILibraries 
  • Enter your UCInetID and password to access the Create Account page. screenshot of WJS Create Account page
     
  • Use a UCI .edu email address to create your membership account.
     
  • Students need to enter their graduation date when they register for membership.
     
  • Faculty and staff need to renew their membership annually, and they will receive an automated email from WSJ with a renewal link.
     
  • After your membership account is created:
  • Simply use WSJ.com to access content.
  • You can also download the WSJ mobile app.  When you launch the app, go directly to “Sign In.”
