Reference Works & Resources

The Library Website is your point of departure. There are Library Research Guides for each academic department and for many general subjects. There is one for each of the 6 Engineering units and course guides to accompany some specific courses.

Reference Sources include Dictionaries, Encyclopedias, Handbooks, Atlases, Formularies... & other finding aids and online resources for consultation in Engineering. By fact checking Encyclopedia Britannica and consulting the references in the Wikipedia, basic reference work can be conducted.

Note that Library locations correspond to: LL = Langson Library, SL = Science Library. Ref = Reference (non-circulating collections)

First-time visitors will want to start at the "Background" section; they may then proceed to the "Policy & Program" area, where they can learn what the state is doing to combat this situation. Some of these programs include a voluntary greenhouse gas emission registry for California companies and a research program to spur environmentally-friendly energy alternatives. Finally, the site also includes a very nice glossary of terms used in discussing global climate change.

JoVE: Journal of Visualized Experiments & Science Education
UCI has the full JoVE portfolio of video journals and science education products in video. Intensively covers Biology, Chemistry, Engineering and various applied fields. JoVE has many subjects covered in both its journals from the original Bioengineering to other areas of engineering including chemical, civil and other life & physical sciences that focus on techniques in which the principles of engineering, mathematics and physics are applied to problems associated with scientific research.
