The UCI Libraries collects books, journals, newspapers, films, and more in 64 different languages either online or in the Libraries.
To search for materials in another language at UCI, use the advanced search in Library Search. Select the language of your choice in the Language limit drop-down menu.
The books in the UCI Libraries are arranged according the Library of Congress Classification system. Much of the libraries' fiction in a variety of languages can be found in the P call number range on the 4th floor of Langson Library. Foreign language materials at UCI Libraries are essentially inter-shelved with English language materials with two exceptions. The first exception is for Chinese, Japanese and Korean language materials which are primarily located in the East Asian Collection area on the first floor of Langson. The second exception is for Vietnamese language materials in the Southeast Asian Archive the lower level of the Gateway Study Center.
The following local public libraries offer materials in a variety of languages other than English. The number of titles held are shown in parentheses.
