Office of Information Technology

Available to all members of the UCI research community (faculty, staff, students) to promote awareness of and provide assistance with campus information technology resources as they facilitate scholarly research.

Campus OIT provides the following services:

Research Cyberinfrastructure Center (RCIC)

The Research Cyberinfrastructure Center (RCIC) provides campus researchers with access to scalable computing resources for research and teaching. RCIC infrastructure supports high-performance and high-throughput computing, data storage and analysis, and software integration. Resources include:

  • HPC3 for high performance computing.
  • CRSP, Campus Research Storage Pool. Supports data retrieval from a web browser, folders, or file path on the HPC cluster. Faculty are provided with 1 TB of storage at no cost. There is also a low cost recharge option.

The computing infrastructure enables reproducible research by supporting containerized computing (see User Guide for software installation instructions). RCIC was created in response to the recommendations of the 2016 UCI RCI Vision Workgroup.
