A UCI library card is necessary for checking out materials. If you are a member of the public, you can purchase a 12-month libary card for $80. Since library cards are expensive, another option is get a (free) library card from the Orange County Public Library and/or Newport Beach Public Library. You can then request our books through your public library using a service called interlibary loan (ILL). Contact your local public library for more details.
You can also have your parent or guardian sign up for a free UCI library card if he/she fits within any of these categories:
More information about library cards is available here. You can also contact the Check Out Desk if you have further questions (949) 824-6842.
Priting cost $0.12 a page. Photocopying cost $0.08 a page. You need a printing/copying card to use our printers and photcopiers. You can buy a card for $0.50 at one of the Value Added Machines in the Library. They are the black boxes located on the first and second floors. Once you have your printing card, you can add any amount of money you wish to the card. The card accepts bills only, no coins or credit cards.
You can watch a short video on how to get a printing card.
Scanners are on the first and second floor of the library. They are free.
