Monologues and Scenes

Physically browse most of the scenes/short plays/ten-minute plays in Langson Library by browsing in call numbers that start with PS627 or PN6110.7.

Physically browse most of the monologues in Langson Library by browsing in call numbers that start with PN2080.

Other tips:

  • Browse monologue anthology titles by doing a SUBJECT search in the Library Search for 'Monologues.' A keyword search for 'scenes and monologues' also retrieves some books containing scenes.
  • There is no specific subject heading for scene books, but scenes are frequently included in monologue anthologies.
  • Try using a monologue bibliography like The Ultimate Scene and Monologue Sourcebook or The Smith and Kraus Monologue Index

Play Anthologies

Physical browse many of the multi-playwright (i.e., plays by more than one person, not just a single playwright) anthologies in Langson Library by browsing in call numbers that start with PS623 through PS634.2.

Finding Diverse Plays

It's hard to browse plays in UCI's Langson Library--I get it. This will let you more easily do this. Use all of the search filters and discover all new plays added to the Langson Library collection from 2012 to the present.
