Tracking the Federal Shield Law

While there are state laws to protect the rights of journalists not to reveal their confidential sources, there is no current federal law.  The NAA is currently working to enact a federal shield law that would allow journalists to not disclose confidential sources when subpoenaed in criminal and civil cases.  Read more about the law here.
