Writing About Dance

Writing about dance can be difficult. Wendy Oliver has written an excellent book that provides guidance on how to write about an art form that is very experiential and performative. UCI has this book available both physically and online.

MLA

Several copies of the 7th edition of the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers are available in the Ready Reference section of Langson Library.

The Purdue OWL: MLA Formatting and Style Guide is an excellent resource to help you figure out how to properly cite materials in your papers.

Chicago

Several copies of the 16th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style are available in the Ready Reference section of Langson Library.

The Purdue OWL: Chicago Manual of Style Guide is an excellent resource to help you figure out how to properly cite materials in your papers.

APA

Several copies of the 6th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association are available in the Ready Reference section of Langson Library.

APA Style is an excellent resource for dealing with basic questions, but also particularly specific examples of electronic resources (like YouTube, Twitter, interviews, etc.)

Diana Hacker is an easy to use website for APA.
